well i'm still looking for that perfect (read: and affordable) handbag, but until then i have gotten one step closer: this simple leather travel bag from Ash. unfortunately, it's too large to serve as a daily handbag, but i plan to take it to my tailor/shoesmith to see if i can modify it. (don't let me down, luis!) - i think if it was a third (maybe a half) shorter, it would be perfect for a handbag...the coolest subtle detail is that the leather straps are adjustable - one end slides thru a slot, and fastens to a bolt on the inside of the bag.
