Doctoring my new sandals

I just got these sandals this weekend and I wasn't totally in love with them, but I just really wanted some new shoes. After purchasing, I realized that I could cut off the orange straps on them and maybe make them more everyday wearable. Here is the original, and following is the photoshopped version. Worth doctoring??
